Now and Then
The original version was shot on Super 8 in 1974 using background music to tell the story. The storyline was based on an idea by John Somerville. The film was shot on location at North Queensferry and the Kingswood hotel, Burntisland. The car chase sequence was hindered by the fact that both cars were similar in style and colour.
Shot on Super 8 sound, the second version of the story, shot in 1982, begins in a graveyard. The "Now" of the title and then features flashbacks to an earlier time ("Then"), where a young couple in love arrange to meet at a local pub. Joanne, the female lead waits for John but unknown to her his car has broken down. She meets an old flame (Bob) in the pub and angered at the thought of having been stood up by John leaves the pub with Bob in his car. Still unknown to Joanne, John’s car pulls up just as they are leaving. There follows a car chase which results in a fatal crash for John. Joanne remembers past times with John and the film ends with a glorious sunset shot. The film was shot on location at the Canmore bar in Dunfermline and the Pancake Place in Kirkcaldy.

| Mr Robb, the manager of the Orient Express in Dunfermline (latterly named the Robins), gave permission to show the film in the cinema.
